About this place
A climb up to the 2rd floor leads to BAR Garret, a neighborhood bar that sets itself apart with a surprisingly hearty food menu. The kitchen leans into satisfying meat-driven plates, from fragrant, golden potato paillasson and grilled hamburg steaks to a rotating daily meat feature. For something more substantial, guests can also order a mixed pizza or a plate of spiced Mexican dry curry, making the spot just as practical for a first stop as for late-night drinks.
The understated interior features a counter seating around 7 to 8 guests, ideal for exploring a drinks list that spans staple whiskies, rarer bottlings, cocktails, and draft beer. To accompany a drink, the kitchen prepares well-liked house-mixed nuts, charcuterie assortments of cured ham, and simple plates of olives and cheese. Those with a sweet tooth can linger over a slice of cheesecake, rounding out the evening on a gentle note.
The bar keeps late hours, staying open until 5:00 the following morning on weekdays and until 23:00 on Saturdays, with free Wi-Fi provided for patrons. Note that settlement is cash only, so it pays to have yen on hand before taking a seat.
